"Wall Street 2": Revenge of the Gekko!
by Scott Weinberg | May 08, 2007

No, that's not the title they'll be using, but it definitely looks like Michael Douglas and producer Edward R. Pressman are planning a sequel to Oliver Stone's "Wall Street."

"Money Never Sleeps" is what the sequel will be called, and it will focus on Gordon Gekko, fresh out of prison and ready to dive right in to the massive mounds of "hedge-fund" money that's littering Wall Street. Oliver Stone is not expected to direct the sequel, nor is Charlie Sheen's character going to be involved. The screenplay is being written by Stephen Schiff, who penned "Lolita," "The Deep End of the Ocean," and "True Crime."

And apparently the Gordon Gekko character has NOT mellowed with age -- which could make for a whole lot of fun.

Are you kidding?
I don't see how Oliver Stone would allow anyone to tarnish any of his movies. Then again these days everyone's just trying to get paid! It's a sad greedy world we live in!

Michael Douglas specializes in playing rich assholes.

The Game
Wall Street
A Perfect Murder
Basic Instinct
War of the Roses

Ironically I liked him best when he played a nice loser in Wonderboys. But I wouldn't mind seeing more of the Gecko :)

normally I would be against this type of thing but now with so many cases of corporate wrong-doing and greedy wall street people the movie could work. Sure the 80's were better suited but this could be a good movie.

This is about as good of an idea as Basinct Instinct 2 or Hannibal.

More Basic Instinct 2, because even though Gekko is a great character who is going to see this? Wall Street is about two decades old and there isn't a demand for another Wall Street movie. Another shitty movie with an iconic character is The Color of Money.

Actually, I love this idea. After the 80's boon, Gecko getting out of prison and all. Could be a good flick.
