I kinda understand where Soderbergh is coming from on this one, I mean, it sounds like the original script did imbelish a lot, like when it calls for Beane to give Giambi a 'tongue lashing' for leaving the team for the Yankees. That would just be kinda akward, seeing as how Giambi is back on the As again, and it never happened in the first place.

I hate how Hollywood is always guilty of using revisionist history to try and make stories more interesting. A little is ok, but it sounds like this movie wasn't even about the book 'Moneyball' anymore.

I mean for a guy who only won 1 playoff series in 10 or so years i really dont know why they would make this movie. I think he won because of three guys called mulder, zito, and hudson as opposed to obp and taking pitches. I dont really see this movie having a big audience outside of oakland and the bay area

uhh, R U 4 Real?

Billy Beane has been a heavy influence on the league, he basically made something out of nothing by figuring out how to recruit obscure players and play to their strengths. Mark my words, if Beane was on a team w/ a higher salary cap he would be in the playoffs every season. Think about what a team like the chicago cubs could do w/ a guy like this.

I give him a lot of credit for sticking w/ the A's. He's happy where he's at, he gets one of the best farming systems in the league and is in no hurry to sell out.
