This is the only show in creator Dick Wolf's big three that the character's lives are as important as the show (Besides Briscoe on Law and Order does anyone know anything about the other characters). Furthermore, the acting in this series is always top notch. Christopher Meloni breaths life into what could be a stale character in Det. Elliot Stabler. Mariska Hargitay is wonderful as Det. Olivia Benson. Richard Belzer and Ice-T provide a hard-edged comic relief. They are lead by Dan Florek's Capt. Cragen, the veteran cop who has seen it all.

The scripts that this show gets is amazing. Sometimes they push the boundaries, but this is a class A show. Tuesday Nights on NBC at 10pm.
