CLICK FOR TRAILER
Magnolia/Punch Drunk Love director Paul Thomas Anderson tackles the American novel by Upton Sinclair. Daniel Day-Lewis, one of the living greats of acting, plays an oil prospector on the tumultuous west coast during the turn of the 20th century. The trailer is so deceptively simple and very powerful. I'm really looking forward to this one. |

I was starving after my first viewing of David Lynch's Inland Empire. So I made a brand new concoction out of stuff lying around the pantry. This was unplanned and I hope to get off my rear and have some more planned episodes out eventually. |

After some very interesting discussions of Sunshine in the forums, I am tempted to give Boyle's Sci-fi flick another go and enjoy the strengths that kept me going the first time and try to keep some of the opinions and thoughts of my fellow RT'ers in mind.
I don't think it will blow me away on second viewing, but I might be able to over-come my knee-jerk reaction to some of the weaknesses or things I didn't care for. Maybe this movie can be salvaged provided I am willing to see past these. And even if I don't like it any more on second viewing, it has given some of the most interesting discussions to come around the forums in a while and was visually spectacular. Here are the links to the discussions: LINK TO MASTER KING SEXINGTON'S REVIEW THREAD LINK TO BETTERDAYZ'S REVIEW THREAD |

There have been a lot of fake or fan-made teasers all over the place, but the new official teaser is really something. Hell, this 1 minute teaser has better dialogue than a lot of 2 hour movies do, plus you get to hear Ledger's voice as the Joker. And this, including the few in-character pictures of him that have been released, has sold me on him as the Joker.
CLICK FOR OFFICIAL TEASER I loved Batman Begins, which was surprising because I never cared deeply about any comic-book stories or films until then. Bravo Mr. Nolan.. Starting tonight, people will die... I'm a man of my wooord. |

ARMED ASSAULT OFFICIAL SITE
Including downloadable multi-player demo version Well. There is a very good chance you guys will be seeing less of me in the forums. Why? Because 'Armed Assault' will be released soon and I'm busy playing the demo version. 'Armed Assault' is the spiritual successor to the moderately successful 'Operation Flashpoint' series. Both ArmA and OFP are tactical military shoot-em ups...with emphasis on tactical. Take the Battlefield games and make them 10 times smarter...you get Armed Assault and it's predacessors. You can play as any type of soldier in this game: Rifleman, Medic, Sniper, Rocket Launcher. And you can crew a vast array of real-world vehicles. And by crew, I don't mean drive like an arcade game. A tank for example needs at least 3 people to operate properly, a commmander/spotter, a gunner, and a driver. So any resemblance to the BF games ends with the vehicles..AmrmA is much more serious than the dumbed down BF series. The virtual islands on which this game is set are huge, almost 100-square miles or so. So you have to really navigate on a large mission to know where you are going. You can go a long period of time without even finding an enemy..and if he sees you first, one shot can do you in. This realism bores some people, but I freaking love it. I'm the type that will sit in a bush not moving for 30 minutes just to take one shot at you. Team work and planning is the order of the day for Arma. Teams that do not work together or execute a good plan fail...even worse than other online action games. Arma is very unforgiving. But don't let me deter you if you are a PC gamer...it can be a daunting game to learn but if you do: it is an amazing experience. I'll take realism any-day. I will be providing a full review and game details after I've played the full-version to death and can take my eyes off of it! And if any of you are interested or play this game online, PLEASE let me know. I want to get a roster of good players together and play difficult missions together. Cya around... |

Dark City
(Alex Proyas, 1998) ORIGINAL TRAILER After another viewing tonight with some friends, my original review of Dark City (CLICK HERE) still stands. It is moody, slick, and highly entertaining. It is still Mr. Proyas' best in my opinion, especially considering that I did not like I Robot nor The Crow. 8/10 |
