5 Movies We Considered Before Picking Point Break to Represent California

In writing our "50 Movies for 50 States" feature, we had to leave off many beloved films off of many state entries. After heated debate, we editors settled on Point Break to represent California. The reasons were many -- it's about a very specifically West Coasterly surfer culture, it's about bromance, and frankly, we love it. But of course, there are many other California-set films that were also in the running. Here are five that almost made the cut.

so... as much as I love Point Blank, I have to say that it would have been tough for me to choose between that and Crash. But, I can see how hard it would be to choose that over Patrick Swayze as a surfing bank robber and Keanu Reaves.

I'm shocked Surf Ninjas is not on this list.

Movies I Love, Love, Love!

My favorite films (right now) - you know, the ones you love to watch over and over again, no matter what the Tomatometer says...
