Quite a powerful teenage drama by Gus Van Sant. He effectively left in the gaps for you to fill in yourself, while realistically communicating to us through the use of clever film-making techniques and relationships just how pressured adolescent are in todays world. Alex played by Gabe Nevins had the right look for the role as we see his haunted, bleak, secret-keeping expressionistic face in ECU shots. He didnt have to say anything or do anything to be interesting. It was cast particularly well. This film cleverly uses more film techniques and immediately draws you into what happens (which most main stream films fail to do) Highly reccommended
