There is absolutely nothing new about this movie. And well, maybe that is exactly why we will all love to see it. We've seen this before, there's the same good ol' sentimental adages, the good ol' worship of all that's great, and it goddamn makes you feel good. Isn't that what you want? And I should also like to mention that this whopping fantasy epic has one of the most powerful climaxes in a sport film. Francis Quimet finds himself hoisted up by a crowd of people who are as happy as we are with his victory(although there should be a quick word for anybody who gets inspired by this: it won't be anywhere near as easy. And you might not have that beautiful bit of lady luck either, mind), and they are all passing him monetary token. Amongst the many hands reaching out to him, he suddenly clasps his father's. If you've seen the film till that point, you'll know why its so glorious.

Shia Lebouf shows promise. After his urban pulp fiction roles, he displays the maturity of a growing man in what is his most authentic film till date. And Sarah, that lovely lady in the film. She's the bud of every young man's hearts, the queen of their warmest dreams. This is why we love these movies, I tell ya'.
