Posted on 11/9/09 at 12:31 PM i have no idea why so many people are giving this film bad reviews... i loved it!!!
i loved the whole feel of it, the movement, the characters, the music, the humour, the imagery and some of the scenery was just beautiful. This adaptation was also pretty faithful to the original dickens story. with so so many film adaptations of this story out there it must be very difficult to make a new one fresh and origianl... i think this is why the director chose to have a constant moving action which some people liked and some didnt but i for one LOVED IT, it actually involved you as a viewer. what i also find hard to understand is why so many people thought this film lacked emotion, personally i thought it was brought out very nicely. This adaptation probaby did focus more on scrooge as a character and HIS personal journey rather than the merry, fa la la la la la,figgy pudding, snowball fights and carol singing iconic image of a victorian chrsitmas...but i still fail to appreciate why people preceive this a negative thing! This is what the original story was focused on, as i've mentioned earlier Jim Carrey gave a great performance as scrooge and the ghosts of christams past and present... well the entire cast did actually GO AND SEE THIS FILM IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS |

I'm looking forward to seeing this. I agree with you, this story is supposed to be about Scrooge and his soul saving change of heart, not about Victorian Christmas traditions and trappings.
