The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)
Agrees With....
Posted on 11/6/09 at 12:30 PM I understand that it had a very low budget compared to A New Hope, but that's no excuse when what we end up with is this, something that doesn't come anywhere close of deserving the name Star Wars. Like I said, there is a substancially lower budget than the big screen films so there's no point complaining about the special effects. The story is pathetic and unbelievable, feeling more like bad fan fiction than an official part of the Star Wars saga. You'd think that because we got all of the original cast like Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, the characters would still be likeable and fun to watch, but you can tell the cast aren't taking it seriously resulting in bad performances, but can you really blame them? R2-D2 was the only thing in this entire film that I actually enjoyed.
