Granted, the puppets maybe look silly nowadays, but i'm glad because it makes the reactions of all actors involved feel much more alive, instead of some crappy CGI & green screen which is being overused nowadays. The story builds its tension slowly but solid, all i could say when the ants appeared was just "Shoot the antennae you fool !".

Oh yeah, and the sound effect when the ants approaching is eerie and creepy and totally fits the atmosphere, the same goes with the tripods from War of the Worlds ! 50's has some of the best sci-fi monsters flick, and this is one of the best !
