Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
Agrees With....
Posted on 1/2/10 at 8:11 AM Mrs. Doubtfire was one of my favorite movies from my childhood. I would watch it more than 10 times and I'd never get tired of it. It is one of Robin Williams' funniest roles, he's terrific in that costume. A character he was born to play. Sally Field is wonderful too as the authoritarian and overprotective mother who falls in love again, like a teenager, with Stuart (Pierce Brosnan).

Ustedes Los Ricos (1948)

Posted on 1/2/10 at 8:06 AM Great sequel to Nosotros los Pobres. Ustedes los Ricos is even more dramatic than the first one and the scene where Torito Jr. dies due to the fire at the workshop, is shocking. Pepe el Toro shows why he is a macho and a womanizer, Celia was right after all but she prefers to forgive him than to lose him. Ustedes los Ricos is a great portrait of the 1940's mexican society.

Legend of the Shadowless Sword (2005)

Posted on 12/29/09 at 8:11 AM Although The Shadowless Sword doesn't reach the splendor or poetry of the chinese productions, the movie is amusing and its action scenes are exciting, sometimes confusing.

Nosotros los Pobres (1948)
Agrees With....
Posted on 12/25/09 at 8:09 AM Nosotoros los Pobres is one of the most emblematic films in Mexican Cinema History, the movie is set in a very poor hood in Mexico City and develops different tragedies: most of them are injustices caused by Chachita and Pedro Infante's pittiful economical situation. Pepe El Toro is an irresistible lover, he has a girlfriend whom he calls "Chorreada" and despite the doubts she has about him, she's really in love and willing to fight for his love: no matter distance, gossips, mystery, danger... The melodrama is really touching and well-achieved.

Avatar (2009)
Agrees With....
Posted on 12/25/09 at 8:01 AM The correct word to descrie this film is FANTASTIC. James Cameron did it again!, he created a Sci-Fi masterpiece with a wonderful world, great performances, revolutionary visual effects, screenplay... I enjoyed Avatar and I never felt tired of watching it despite its 2h40 minutes lenght. Avatar automatically became my frontrunner to win the Oscar for Best Picture of the Year, Avatar is a thousand times better than Titanic.

Brother Sun, Sister Moon (1973)
Agrees With....
Posted on 12/22/09 at 9:35 AM Although Zeffirelli's manipulative and corny concept worked much better in Romeo & Juliet, I gotta admit Franco Zeffirelli's productions are impeccable in all the technical aspects. The film is full of symbols and sentimental moments that touched me. The main problems with this movie are a weak screenplay, an unbearable set of songs and an awful performance by the one who played St. Francis, I think he was completely miscast.

Lulu on the Bridge (1998)
Agrees With....
Posted on 12/18/09 at 9:48 PM The whole film is a mess. The synopsis I read at the moment I bought the video was much more interesting that what I watched in the end. I didn't like any of the performances, the love story is very quick and empty, the ending is absurd. The attempt to honor Pandora's Box with an internal remake was good but the writter and director got lost in trying to put the elements of the silent movie along with the other ideas.

Enamorada (1946)

Posted on 12/16/09 at 12:53 PM Fantastic movie from the begining to the end. Every single aspect of this film is a masterpiece: the direction, the script, the performances, the romance, the drama, the cinematography is sublime, the sets. Really wonderful.
