I liked Saw VI more than Paranormal Activity...

Yes, very odd comment, I know. I loved the original Saw, semi-enjoyed Saw II and III, and HATED Saw IV and V. But Saw VI, even though it's not saying much, is the best American torture porn film I've ever seen. It's thought provoking, intense, well-directed, and has a plot twist at the end that isn't ridiculously over the top like the others.

Paranormal Activity, which I saw a week or so ago, just wasn't all that great. Maybe I went in expecting too much, and I went into Saw VI expecting so little, but Paranormal Activity just wasn't scary (neither was Saw VI, but it had other things on its mind other than scaring the audience). The movie didn't really amount to anything. Out of all of the mockumentary horror movies out now, REC still reigns supreme.

Paranormal Activity - 2 stars

Saw 6 - 2 1/2 stars

If the director from Saw 6 cleans up a few problems, he can lift the Saw franchise out of the trenches. Saw 6 is infinetely better then the previous four.

Paranormal Activity is irritating. You really need to invest in the gimmick for it to work.

And for the record, I enjoyed Quarantine far more then REC.

I can't believe someone went to see Saw VI. You're of a dying breed, pilgrim.

My sister, my girlfriend, and I were the only ones there. Yes, we are a dying breed. But I'd rather see a thousand Saw sequels rather than a thousand sequels to yet another slasher movie.

It really wasn't bad, considering how much I loathed the last two, and thought the first three were meh.

Definitely the best of the series.

Gotta tell you, I was pleasantly surprised by Saw VI. While not a good film by any stretch of the imagination, it had some expertly pulled of viscera, the regular soap-operaism of the plot, and it actually had a pretty cold sense of humour. Also the scene on the carousel was pretty well executed, from a plot sense. 6 Manipulative Yuppies trying to talk their way out of death? Kinda cool.

it's totally the best Saw film, I gotta love the idiots saying "why'd you even see it?" especially since they've probably seen all 12 Friday the 13th films... and yeah... 12... count it.

Now that this is mentioned, I've yet to know a person who saw Paranormal Activity and actually liked it.

In other amazing news, they're planning on making a Paranormal Activity sequel! For those of you who watched the movie, you'll understand exactly how ridiculous that is.

Same. I'm the "horror guy" in my circle of friends and have been getting coutless texts and calls from them telling me how dissapointing it was.

I've decided to wait for video. Doesn't look like the movie needs my money right now...

I thought Paranormal Activity sucked too, like in the Blair Witch project sense. I just didn't buy the fear of the couple at all. I think people would be a lot more creeped out if a demon was haunting them than this couple was. For my money the best demon movie is still the Exorcist. This one blew.

Same. Especially after the stupid lead actress spoiled the ending in her interview on Attack of the Show.

That'd almost be a good zinger if it had anything to do with the current argument, by your standards how was Robert Bird ever elected Senator? I'll wait for you to figure out the connection.

Also, bad news for the Saw series. The director of Saw VI, who added a lot of energy and intensity in a dulling series, is being replaced in Saw VII by...Get ready for it...

...The director of Saw V.

I gave up on the series after sitting through the garbage fest that was Saw II. Seriously, I could write 400 page encyclopedic novel about everything wrong with that movie.
