Larry Clark's whole career is based on exploiting kids and focusing on the negative aspects of growing up. Bully, Another Day in Paradise, Wassup Rockers, they are all pretty awful films. This guy has an unhealthy fascination w/ his subject matter.

5 or 6. Maybe.

In highschool, it was the most amazing thing ever. It's almost unwatchable for me now, like the majority of Korine/Clark's output.

I saw it maybe ten years ago and it was rather disgusting to me then. It's one of those movies you have to see- no matter how much it makes you want to clean yourself with a brillo pad afterwards.

Clark should have his own F.B.I. agent watching his every move. He took pictures of naked children for a living prior to making pederast porn.

5/10, the only Korine effort I don't really like thought it may have more to do with the director

Most of them are annoying little a-holes. However, there are a few that wear batman costumes and run around the playground capturing other kids who have done wrong. Those ones are pretty awesome.

Larry Clark has a very one-dimensional view of teenagers. Kids actually annoyed me, I saw it when I was young and thought I was missing out on some amazing orgy.

It's not as good as Ken Park, but it does have Chloe Sevigny and Rosario Dawson.

Still, I like Ken Park more.

I'm not a fan of Clark, and most people I've talked to that own that book are rather creepy.

However, the mis-use of the word 'pedophilia' is a pet-peeve of mine. Strong sexual attraction to teenagers is not pedophilia (it's ephebophila or hebephilia, depending on the age of the adolescent).

The only reason I care much about the distinction is that while adults acting on attraction to teens is bad, having a sexual attraction to pre-pubescent children is much worse, and acting on it is...-shudder-

I grew up during the early hip hop era in NYC so maybe i'm bias. Pretty much most of my peers dug this movie too. These are just one of those cult movies that you either love or hate. I could relate to this movie (not the AIDS part). But then again I like "Bully" as well. *shrugs*

Like so many in this thread with their 1950's midwestern morals I dont think the film is disgusting or child porn or that it shows some especially unbelievable view of how some teenagers live. But I just dont think the film is especially well made. 6.5/10

Oh and if you have a problem with Kids don't even think about going near Ken Park.

Oh and Bully is where you want to go. Take away the murder and it reminds me quite a bit of when I was a teenager. 10/10
